💖 Personality & Temperament
❤️ Update: 2/11-🐾 Last Plot Twist
Just when we thought we had Ash fully figured out… she added a new chapter.
This week revealed something exciting: while her love for people remains legendary, her environmental confidence is clearly expanding. Most notably? Water. Ash didn’t just tolerate it — she investigated it, placed her feet in willingly, and even jumped in when given the opportunity. If this trend continues, water activities may officially join her “approved fun list.”
Outdoors, Ash is beginning to stretch her independence muscles. She still prefers to keep her person within comfortable viewing distance (obviously), but she’s now exploring first and checking back in second. It’s not distance for distance’s sake — it’s secure curiosity. During walks she remains bouncy, playful, and enthusiastic, following with joy rather than hesitation.
Her dog-social drive continues to be one of her most consistent traits. When presented with other dogs at the fence, Ash runs toward interaction like it’s the best news she’s heard all day. Sustained happiness, relaxed body language, full engagement — this is not situational confidence. This is just who she is.
Now, about alone time… Ash still has strong opinions. During structured 10-minute kennel sessions, she continues to vocalize from start to finish. However — and this part remains important — the moment reassurance is offered, she resets instantly. No lingering stress. No emotional hangover. Big feelings, fast recovery. Classic Ash.
At this point, her personality is beautifully defined by contrast: bold and joyful in sensory and social experiences, deeply connection-oriented in emotional moments. She continues to grow in independence while staying unmistakably expressive, affectionate, and socially driven.
Plot twist confirmed: Ash may love people most… but she might also love water.
❤️ Update: 2/4
Over the past week, Ash has continued doing what she does best: being extremely social, highly expressive, and very committed to reminding everyone that humans are her favorite thing. Her personality is becoming clearer by the day, marked by enthusiastic connection, purposeful communication, and an impressive ability to bounce right back once she’s reassured.
Ash is feeling increasingly at home in her world. Outdoors, she explores happily with plenty of confidence, but always keeps one metaphorical eye on her person. She operates on a “secure home base” system — adventure out, check back in, repeat. Her movement is playful and energetic, and she frequently invites interaction through games, object-carrying, or dramatic little “look what I found” moments.
Socially, Ash continues to shine. Fence exercises with multiple large dogs are met with full enthusiasm, loose and relaxed body language, and sustained interest. No hesitation, no second-guessing — just an excited puppy convinced that more friends is always the correct answer. Her comfort isn’t limited to familiar faces either; it’s consistently confident across different dogs and situations.
Now, about alone time… Ash still has thoughts about that. She remains very vocally expressive during separation and makes sure her feelings are clearly known. That said, the moment reassurance appears, the show is over. She settles immediately, often transitioning straight into calm or sleep with no emotional hangover. Big feelings, fast reset — classic Ash.
Overall, Ash is shaping up to be a playful, affectionate, emotionally expressive little companion whose confidence grows best through connection. Her social ease, bold communication style, and lightning-fast recovery continue to define her as she works toward greater independence (with plenty of support, routine, and cuddles along the way).
🐾 Update: 1/28
Over the past week, Ash’s personality has continued to clarify through consistent patterns of connection, communication, and recovery. She remains highly people-oriented and emotionally expressive, using her voice and body language intentionally to engage rather than withdraw.
During separation, Ash vocalizes strongly; however, this response is situational and resolves quickly with reassurance. Once comfort is provided, she transitions smoothly back into calm, regulated states with no lingering stress. This reflects sensitivity paired with a developing ability to self-regulate after connection is restored.
Ash shows increasing confidence in her environment, exploring willingly while maintaining proximity to trusted people. Her play remains energetic and enthusiastic, and she continues to recover easily following excitement. These patterns highlight a puppy whose confidence grows through connection and whose expressive nature is becoming a defining and consistent trait.
🐾 Update: 1/21
Over the past week, Ash’s awareness and initiative have continued to stand out in everyday interactions. She is increasingly anticipatory — often recognizing what’s coming next and engaging before being prompted. Whether through purposeful movement, eye contact, or her signature husky vocals, Ash consistently chooses participation and connection.
Her vocalizations remain situational and expressive, most often appearing around moments of excitement or engagement rather than continuously. These moments feel intentional, reflecting early communication rather than restlessness. Ash frequently uses her voice as part of interaction, then settles smoothly once the moment has passed.
During play, Ash continues to show leadership within the group. She initiates confidently, engages enthusiastically, and recovers easily afterward, demonstrating a steady emotional baseline. Her ability to move between excitement and calm supports growing emotional regulation alongside her expressive nature.
🐾 Update: 1/14
Ash enjoys being held and shows comfort with close human interaction. She settles well during handling and seeks physical connection as part of her interaction style.
She is the 3rd most vocal of the litter, using her voice intermittently rather than constantly. Her vocalization appears situational and does not persist once she is engaged.
Ash is currently the most playful puppy in the litter. She frequently participates in play with her littermates and shows enthusiasm while maintaining the ability to settle afterward.
Please Note: As with all puppies, these traits are subject to change as development continues. Routine adjustments, environmental factors, and developmental stages may influence behavior from week to week. There is no guarantee of future disposition, as behavior can be influenced by growth stages, environment, training, handling, and life experiences
